Ayurvedic Stewed Apples
A Simple Ayurvedic Recipe to Support Digestion and Wellbeing

Ingredients
- 2 apples, diced
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 3–4 green cardamom pods (elaichi), crushed
- 2 cloves, crushed
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
- A pinch of salt
Instructions

Melt the Ghee:
Heat the ghee in a small saucepan over medium heat. -
Bloom the Spices:
Crush the cardamom pods and cloves using a mortar and pestle. Add to the ghee. Stir and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. -
Add the Apples:
Stir in the diced apples and coat them evenly in the ghee and spices. -
Add the Remainder:
Sprinkle in the cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Add the ginger paste and water. Stir everything together. -
Simmer:
Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and tender but still hold their shape. -
Serve:
Enjoy warm on its own, or pair with some steel-cut oats for a heartier breakfast.
